Also known as “Wild Edible Amaranth“. They belonged to the local species of Amaranth grown in Singapore. This leafy green flower and form seeds much faster than other vegetables (within 3 weeks). Thus, one may often recognize these vegetables based on their flowers/ seeds (they are edible).  For those interested in gardening, growing these vegetable are easy. But do take extra precaution not to let adult plants’ seeds drop onto soil, as one may face difficulty in removing them completely. They are excellent to cook with Mee Sua or in soups.
